Play under the trees!

Leaves, buckets, and storybooks!

Exploring in the sunshine!

Foraging hikes for natural materials, squeezing onto logs that magically become horses and subway trains, tree climbing and insect finding - just another day in the forest!

First Day of Fall!

We were given gorgeous sunny fall weather to explore on our first day together! Digging, painting, collecting sticks and leaves - we were on the move all morning!

Using our sense of touch to explore outside!

Nature provides endless experiences for learning through the sense of touch...smooth, rough, wet, dry, bumpy, sticky, gooey - these were just some of the words we used to describe what discovered this week!  We observed and examined fuzzy green caterpillars, cicada exoskeletons, and even a luna moth caterpillar! We created art with natural items and tempera paint and liquid watercolors. And as always, we got muddy and dirty working with the earth!

Late summer adventures!
