Enrollment for Full Year Classes, 3K - 2nd Grade

September 2026- June 2027

Join us for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days a week! This is a mixed-aged class, open to children entering 3K through 2nd grade in September 2026.

Our classes for slightly older kids offer exploratory, independent nature education with an emphasis on social-emotional development that our other classes offer, but with a little extra.

Since these classes serve older children, we are able to take the fundamentals of our place-based, inquiry-centered nature learning to deeper levels with activities such as: map-reading and making, bird watching and identifying, learning about conservation, nature journaling, and the native people who originally stewarded the land we know as Prospect Park.

Like all our programming at Brooklyn Nature Days, classes are child-directed and are led by our teachers with gentle guidance, warmth, and humor as the group navigates and explores Prospect Park together.

Our goal is to prepare for and embrace all types of weather. We will work and play in the sun, rain, and snow. On days of extreme weather (high wind gusts, thunderstorms, or intense cold) classes are canceled and a makeup class is scheduled for a later date. Weather-related makeup days are built into our calendar throughout the year to accommodate children as needed.

Enrolling in the full year program allows families to commit to multiple days a week and lock in their childโ€™s schedule for the full year. Classes begin in September 2026 and run through mid-June 2027, with holiday breaks in November, December, February, and April. Committing to our full year program guarantees your child a space throughout our fall (Sept-Feb) and spring (Feb-June) sessions, as well as a discounted tuition as opposed to enrolling by semester. We offer a select number of spaces for year round enrollment to those families we feel are best matched to our program and passionate about our philosophy.

Our tuition ensures fair pay for our teachers and covers the cost of our supplies, materials, and administrative fees as well as land reparations based on recommendations from The Lenape Center and donations to the Prospect Park Alliance to keep this treasure of a park thriving. It also allows us to offer financial aid & sliding scale pricing for families that need it. If our program is cost-prohibitive, please reach out to us at enrollment@brooklynnaturedays.com after reading our Financial Aid page on our website.
